Kevin J. Vedrine is a founding partner of Cunningham Meyer & Vedrine where his practice focuses exclusively on medical malpractice defense.

Known for his fierce advocacy for clients in the courtroom, he has first-chaired more medical malpractice cases than anyone in his peer age group, bringing more than 40 cases to verdict and securing not-guilty verdicts in most of them.

He has tried cases in 13 counties in Illinois as well as in federal court, with numerous published opinions that shape the way future case law is interpreted.

While Kevin represents primarily doctors, physicians and hospitals, he has also represented allied healthcare professionals, including optometrists and podiatrists.

He devotes a significant amount of time speaking to the healthcare industry on ways to minimize risk, including to insurance companies, hospitals, risk managers and physician groups. He often lectures to professional organizations, such as radiologists, ophthalmologists and ER groups, about the importance of proper documentation, particularly as it relates to test follow up and discharge orders.

Kevin also regularly speaks on how to avoid risk through best practices with background checks, social media research and better patient communication, as well as on the critical first steps to take should a professional be sued.  He has lectured on trial techniques including how to select a jury and the use of demonstrative medical exhibits.

In 2006, Kevin was a contributing author to the ICLE on medical malpractice, writing the chapter “Breach” and then updating it for the 2011 edition.

He is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the DuPage County Bar Association.

Kevin is a member of the Knights of Columbus.  In addition to spending time with his wife and three children, he enjoys coaching high school basketball and has seen several of his players head to Division I colleges on basketball scholarships.
