Scott A. Herbert

Since joining the firm in 2003, Mr. Herbert has practiced in multiple areas of civil litigation, with a primary focus in professional negligence defense. Mr. Herbert has successfully defended physicians, nurses and hospitals located throughout Illinois in malpractice suits involving a wide range of injuries and specialties, including primary care, urgent and emergency care medicine, general and orthopedic surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, infectious disease and radiology.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Herbert was a prosecutor in both Cook County and Kane County, where he helped start the Kane County Internet Task Force. As a prosecutor, he acquired extensive trial experience on felony cases, including a capital murder case. Mr. Herbert has also successfully argued eleven cases before the Illinois Appellate Court.
After obtaining his undergraduate degree from the University of Iowa, Mr. Herbert attended Chicago-Kent College of Law, where he received the American Jurisprudence Award in Trial Advocacy.

He is admitted to practice law in the State of Illinois and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
