Marni R. Slavick is an equity partner at Cunningham, Meyer & Vedrine where she focuses on physician and hospital medical negligence defense as well as the defense of skilled nursing and home health providers.
Marni has successfully defended healthcare professionals in a variety of high-exposure cases. Her trial experience extends to multi-specialty practice groups, hospitals and clinics throughout Illinois.
Her broad litigation skills make her adept at navigating complex medical negligence matters. In addition, she has handled general liability and premises liability matters for healthcare clients.
Marni also represents physicians in the full cycle of IDFPR (Illinois Department of Professional Regulation) claims. From initial complaint through the discovery and trial process, she is a strong advocate for physicians, helping them keep their licenses and continue practicing following disciplinary proceedings.
Additionally, she has developed a specialty practice defending home health product and service providers. Based on her deep understanding of the policies, procedures and complexities related to the growing trend of third-party care outsourcing, she has become the preferred choice for health services providers in this space.
In 2013 Marni was named to the <<Law Bulletin Publishing Company’s Forty Under 40 link to profile>> and has been consistently recognized by Illinois Super Lawyers.
She is regularly invited by health systems, hospitals, insurance companies and bar groups to speak on best practices in risk management and trial procedure, including jury selection and proper preparation of expert witnesses.
