Krista R. Frick is a partner at Cunningham, Meyer & Vedrine where she focuses on the defense of hospitals and medical professionals. Krista has successfully defended both healthcare professionals and hospitals in a variety of significant matters and has tried multiple cases to verdict in matters involving various areas including emergency medicine, infectious disease, and obstetrics. 

In addition to her broad litigation skills and experience, Krista has extensive experience in matters involving insurance coverage and appellate practice.  Krista also represents physicians in matters involving IDFPR claims.


Krista assists clients in areas of quality, risk management, contracts, and privilege, and provides in service seminars and presentations to help clients remain current with Illinois law, litigation, and discovery trends.  She is regularly invited to speak and give presentations at hospitals, medical schools, practice groups, and risk management associations on issues focused on litigation challenges and concerns facing healthcare providers and hospitals in the defense of medical malpractice claims.

Krista is a member of the Illinois Society of Trial Lawyers and the Illinois Appellate Lawyers Association. Krista has most recently been named as a 2022 Leading Lawyer.

Krista’s article, “Silicone, Science and Settlements: Breast Implants and a Search for the Truth” was published in the Illinois Association of Defense Counsel Journal. She continues to contribute to publications in both the legal and risk management arenas. 

Krista is licensed in both Illinois and New Jersey and clerked for the Honorable Thomas H. Dilts in the Superior Court of New Jersey.  Krista also worked in the child advocacy and family law departments in the Circuit Court of Nassau County, New York.
